We are all geared up and ready for the June 4 market... Summer has arrived early this year with temperatures lingering in the mid 90's, but there are many large oak trees offering shade as well as three covered seating areas to give you relief from the sun. Be sure to visit Concession 3 and cool off with a Root Beer Float, and all concessions offer cold tea, sodas and water. Wear your walking shoes as there's a lot of ground to cover, and stay hydrated!
This year, we celebrate our 50th year at Lions Field! In 1972 Wimberley Market Day moved from the square in downtown Wimberley to it's present day location, a mile or so west on FM 2325. At that time, the Wimberley Lions purchased 7 acres of the current 20 acre site and named it Lions Field. Today, Wimberley Market Day has grown from one concession stand, a BBQ kitchen and about 100 vendors to 10 concession stands and over 450 vendors!
Wear a mask if you wish, but it is not mandatory. No passport required to enter either! COVID will be with us for awhile, but restrictions have eased up and many folks have been vaccinated. As well, this is an outdoor market with lots of fresh air and sunshine so feel free to walk the field and show off your smile. Some vendors may still require that you wear one inside their shop, so keep one handy–masks are also available at the main Info Booth for a small donation of $1.
